What we provide

ABC Day Nursery Hollinswood provides full and part-time day care, as well as school term time-only places.

We also provide an after-school club for children aged between 5 and 11 years.

As we share the site with Hollinswood Primary School, the nursery has a Biometric Entry System, which uses a reading of your thumb or finger and ensures that only designated people have access.

We have a wonderful outdoor area, within the grounds of the school, where we provide Forest School activities for our children.

Children learn in a language-rich environment, allowing all children to develop at their own unique level and pace. This also benefits the acquisition of English for those children who have English as an additional language.

Food is freshly cooked and provided by Telford & Wrekin Council’s catering team, with a delicious menu plan regularly shared with parents, and all dietary requirements can be catered for.

How we are structured

The nursery is made up of three distinct rooms, and an outdoor area, designed to provide the ideal environment for each age group.

The Explorers room is a bright and welcoming self-contained area, with lots of natural light. There is a sleep area, complete with cots and sleep mats. All children have their own bedding.

Within the room is a large area for messy activities alongside a carpeted area which is used for exploring equipment, treasure baskets and socialising. The babies also have a separate feeding area and changing facilities.

It’s always lively in the Discoverers room! A large, bright inviting space, divided into two areas to enable imaginative play and exploration with a wide range of equipment and activities.

One section is used for messy activities, along with sand and water play, which are always great fun!

The children also have access to an outdoor play area for a variety of activities in the school grounds.

The Adventurers room is a multi-functional space where children learn through play and discovery as they start to prepare for the transition to school. We work in conjunction with the adjoined school nursery, ensuring information is shared and that the transition between nursery and the school is carried out smoothly for the children.

All children have access to computers, a role play area, cosy area as well as easily accessible equipment for them to choose and play with. There are tables for writing and other activities, making this room exciting and practical.

“Thank you for all of your help. Thank you for easing Mummy and Daddy’s anxieties about me starting a new nursery and thank you for letting me be me.”
