Christmas Gift Ideas 2020

Posted 26th November, 2020

There really isn’t long to go now until Christmas Day… we’re sure you’re already planning (or doing) your Christmas shopping and we’re almost certain your little ones will be asking the classic “can I have this for Christmas?” as you’re wandering around the supermarket.

We thought we’d give you a hand with planning your Christmas gifts this year by sharing the most popular pressies and what our ABC little ones just can’t stop talking about. Don’t you worry, there will be no cheesy “a sensible mask and some hand sanitiser” jokes here – or did we just make one?

We know at ABC Day Nursery that our imagination is a wonderful thing and we can create so much fun at home and create amazing presents using resources but we also know children also enjoy those shop bought toys.

They do not have to cost hundreds of pounds – some do and can be useful for shared presents or a present to all of the family!

Nintendo Switch

Naturally, the Nintendo Switch is the bestseller for this year and could be on your child’s Christmas list. You can ask family members to go together to buy a game to go with it… just make sure your little ones aren’t glued to their Switch from Christmas Day to New Year! However we have heard it is the parents you can’t get off it… a family game of Mario Kart is great fun!

My 1st Bike

The Zycom My 1st Bike (balance bike) is a great gift for any child who is constantly up and about… not to mention how fantastic it is for their balance and their physical development.

Our favourite version is the Strider Bike for quality and design and they hold their money for when you want to sell it and get your child on pedals – no stabilisers, just easy, stress free transition from balance bike to pedals.

Don’t forget to order a helmet and some knee and elbow pads too!

Aquadoodle Mat

Oh, how every parent loves Aquadoodle almost as much as their child does…

It’s mess-free and your child can have hours of fun doodling, plus it’s an open-ended resource meaning your child can be entertained to their heart’s content.

L.O.L Surprise Toys

It’s no surprise (if you’ll pardon the pun!) that L.O.L Surprise toys are at the top of so many Christmas lists. Their Winter Disco Chalet has a particular spotlight this year.

Pokemon Advent Calendar

If your child has been particularly nice this year and you fancy treating them a little bit before the big day, this Pokemon Advent calendar is the perfect way to count down ‘til Christmas.

VTech Kidizoom

Have your child photograph all of those magical Christmas moments with their very own camera! Be sure to share their favourites with us so that we can watch their creativity develop.

Artie 3000 Drawing Coding Robot

Coding robots seem to be on everybody’s Christmas list this year! While definitely one for the older children, these robots are just mind blowingly clever (we’re still trying to get our heads around them!) and are fantastic for those little ones who love to challenge themselves.

Those are our top picks for Christmas gift ideas 2020… of course, there’s always the Frozen, Toy Story, Star Wars and Lego toys on every single child’s list so don’t forget about those too!

Happy shopping to mummies, daddies and carers and good luck to Santa and the elves… all of our ABC little ones have been good this year so they have a lot of work to do!
