Royal Wedding: ABC’s own princes and princesses celebratePosted 18th May, 2018
It’s a Royal Wedding! Little princes and princesses from all across Telford have been celebrating this week ahead of the Royal Wedding. Our four ABC Day Nursery settings have been hosting their own Royal Wedding celebrations and preparations…
As the beloved Prince Harry and Meghan Markle prepare for the wedding of the year, children at ABC Hollinswood hosted a royalty-themed picnic at nursery to mark the occasion.
The baby, toddler and preschool rooms all took part in the event on Thursday (May 17 2018), wearing red, white and blue in celebration as well as crowns that they had made themselves earlier in the week.
A feast fit for royalty was provided by staff at the nursery, based at Hollinswood Primary School, and the children also enjoyed learning about the Royal Family.
Staff and children at the three other ABC Day Nursery sites across Telford, Lightmoor, Hoo and Hadley, also took part in the Royal Wedding celebrations, with children at ABC Lightmoor ‘dressing to impress’ at their own picnic, little ones at ABC Hoo making their own crowns and decorating flags as well as enjoying a picnic, and the children at ABC Hadley designed a wedding dress fit for a Queen alongside crowns and flags.
ABC Day Nursery owner Penny Hustwick said: “We wanted to mark the day and put on a really special occasion for the children. None of them were born when Prince William and Kate Middleton got married in 2011 so it’s the first time they have experienced a Royal Wedding.
“We know they will have heard their families and older siblings talking about Harry and Meghan’s wedding so giving them an opportunity to celebrate in their own way has been really special.
“The children loved getting creative to make their crowns – and have made some fantastic memories to mark the occasion.”
