What we provide

ABC Lightmoor provides full and part-time day care, Monday to Friday, 51 weeks a year from 7.30am to 6pm. We also offer breakfast and after-school care for children at Lightmoor Primary School.

We have exclusive use of an area of local woodland to run Forest School activities, which are always rewarding and greatly enjoyed by the children.

Food is freshly cooked and provided by Telford & Wrekin Council’s catering team, with a delicious menu plan regularly shared with parents, and all dietary requirements can be catered for.

How we are structured

We are based over two levels, with the main nursery areas on the ground level and the breakfast and after school club room upstairs. Upstairs access is either by staircase or by a platform lift. The nursery has under floor heating throughout the building.

The nursery is made up of three distinct rooms, designed to provide the ideal environment for each age group.

A bright, welcoming and happy room, Explorers is a multi-functional space, with a milk kitchen area, nappy changing room and sleep area. The babies have a large carpeted area, which is divided into several areas and a messy area, which also doubles up to where they have their meals. The baby room has several large windows, which provides natural daylight.

Watch out, toddlers are about! The Discoverers room is carefully laid out to give our inquisitive toddlers the freedom and care they need, with their own toilets and changing facilities, including a small shower for the children.

The room has a carpeted area and a messy area. The toddlers even have their own door, which leads to a play area with equipment which changes on a daily basis. Children have the freedom to play inside and outside all day long.

There is a pair of double doors which lead into the Adventurers room, enabling us to open up the space so the children can play together at appropriate times.

There’s never a dull moment with our Adventurers! The bright and airy room has large windows down both sides, which brings in lots of natural light all day. There are large double doors leading to the outdoor area, which are often opened up to provide an indoor/outdoor learning environment.

There is no fixed equipment outside; instead it is put out on a daily basis so the children never get bored. Indoors the room has lots of learning opportunities with a writing and maths area, messy area and a role play area which changes on a regular basis – it can be anything from a pet shop, hospital or home corner depending on the children’s imagination!

“Please pass on my thanks to the team and of course yourself for a fantastic graduation today. It really was a lovely celebration of the time my son has spent at ABC and his goody bag of memories was so thoughtful. Thanks again for all you do for him.”
