Hoo Nursery

Who we are

ABC Day Nursery Hoo is a bit different, being based within the grounds of Hoo Farm, and providing access to the amazing array of animals within the farm.

The nursery is housed in a purpose-built building and like all of our settings, is rated Outstanding by Ofsted. The team is passionate about creating a compassionate, homely and caring atmosphere for the children.

What we provide

ABC Hoo provides high quality full and part time day care, Monday to Friday, 51 weeks a year from 7.30am to 6pm.

We have our own large outdoor area, where we provide Forest School activities for our children. The area is very natural, with no fixed equipment which allows the children to develop and enhance their imaginations, whether digging for treasure or going on a bear hunt!

ABC Hoo is in the unique position of being within the grounds of Hoo Farm, so our children regularly visit the farm to enhance their learning and development. We are lucky to have access to such an engaging and enriching environment, as well as being able to see farm activities like the farrier coming to re-shoe the horses, which are fantastic learning opportunities.

There is a sensory room within the nursery, equipped with soft play mats, a bubble tube, and rope lights, for use by all children.

Food is freshly cooked and provided by Telford & Wrekin Council’s catering team, with a delicious menu plan regularly shared with parents, and all dietary requirements can be catered for.

The nursery is divided into three sections:

The nursery is made up of three distinct rooms, and an outdoor area, designed to provide the ideal environment for each age group.

The Ducklings room is self-contained, providing a relaxed and quiet environment for our youngest children. It is a bright and welcoming room, divided into a comfortable carpeted area and the messy zone, used for art and craft activities and also our feeding area.

Ducklings includes a milk kitchen, nappy changing area and a sleep room.

Our Lambs room is very lively, with toddlers enjoying the freedom to explore and enjoy a whole range of activities. There is a carpeted area for floor activities, with a quieter area set aside for stories and singing. There is also a large messy area for sand and water play, arts and craft.

The toddlers have access to the toilets direct from their room, with nappy changing facilities for the younger ones.

Our Farm Hands are at the end of the building in a very large room, with easy access to the outdoor area and the flexibility to play inside or outside all day long.

The bright room, with lots of natural light, is divided into a large carpeted area and a messy area. Within the carpeted area there are several learning areas, such as a maths and writing area, a role play area which can be anything from a police station to a post office!

“Thank you for giving our daughters such a great start! We have absolutely loved hearing about their day and their interactions with their teachers, such lovely, caring, attentive teachers.”
