Letter to Parents – returning to the new norm.Posted 15th July, 2020
As you all know communication is key for us and we have been updating you at the first opportunity as guidance has allowed.
We sent this letter out yesterday and hope you have received it but wanted to put it on here too in case some parents are not checking their emails.
We hope you are all keeping well, and we would like to thank you for your continued support through these trying times.
We have a few pieces of information we need to share with you but firstly we would like to welcome back the children who have come back during July, they have been amazing and settled in very well. It has been lovely to have even more children back in nursery.
As we have now received the new guidance we were waiting for, we can now update you on the effects it will have on the nursery.
The main change is that we are no longer restricted on numbers of children we can take within our bubbles, meaning we can now take more children back into the nursery.
This is great news, so thank you to all of you for being understanding and patient with us over this period, as we know some of you have had to change your days etc for us to fit you in.
From July 20th if you want your child to return to nursery please can you contact head office as we may need to alter staff shifts etc.
Then from August all children will be expected to return, and invoicing will resume.
As you can appreciate, we have not charged any fee’s or retainers for any child attending ABC who hasn’t attended for four months, which I’m sure you can imagine has had a major impact on us as a business.
Again, if you can confirm by email when your child will be returning, we would appreciate it.
We understand that some of you may want to keep your child off for a little longer which is fine, but you will be charged for the space.
At present, our open and closing times have been slightly adjusted, this is to help with cleaning down at the end of the day before our cleaners come in and with staffing.
We are still being asked to keep staff in bubbles, so if this is going to cause you a problem, please can you let us know as this is only a temporary measure.
Our Terms and Conditions, which have been suspended for the last four months will now come back into operation and we have updated our risk assessment to fall in line with the new guidance, if you require a copy please ask and we will send this to you.
While the guidance states we can relax some measures, there are some measures that we must keep.
These are mainly about people entering the building, so for now dropping off and collecting at the door must remain. Also, we will not be able to have stay and plays, parent’s evenings etc please feel rest assured we are keeping everyone safe and protected.
If a child shows any symptoms of the Coronavirus, we will ask you to take your child for a test straight away.
If this comes back negative, then your child can return to nursery as normal. If it comes back positive, then we will follow Public Health guidance.
We are pleased to say we have had no suspected cases within our nurseries.
Finally, we would like to take this opportunity of saying goodbye to all our children and families that will be starting a new chapter in September.
We are so sorry we have not been able to hold our graduation ceremonies, but we have tried our best to still give our children a lovely send off.
Thank you for all your support while you have been coming to ABC.
If you wish to discuss any of the above, then please get in touch.
Take care and we hope to see you all very soon.
