A big welcome to our fabulous new manager at LightmoorPosted 20th February, 2019
We’re delighted to welcome a new operations manager to the team at ABC Lightmoor.
Kirsty Caldecott joined us at the start of the new year and brings with her a wealth of experience.
Not only is Kirsty highly qualified – she holds a foundation degree in early childhood support and BA Hons in childcare studies – but she has lots of hands-on experience too.
Working at a daycare in Wem before acting as a deputy manager at a nursery in Shrewsbury, means Kirsty has a wide knowledge of children and childcare. Added to that Kirsty also spent 18 months working with psychiatric patients – before making the move back into childcare.
“I’ve got a really varied background and decided to move into mental health to explore another interest,” said Kirsty, 28, who lives in Newport.
“I learned so much that can also be used in childcare, I gained skills that help across the board, but I realised that I really missed working with little ones.
“Working at ABC is such a great opportunity, it’s great here and I love it,” she added.
Kirsty has recently completed a level 5 NVQ in leadership and management which she is looking forward to using in her new role.
Owner Penny Hustwick said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Kirsty to the team, she has an excellent background in childcare and further studies and we know she will be a real asset to the team.
“She has already overwhelmed us with her enthusiasm and love of the job.
“Kirsty has been getting to know staff and children at Lightmoor and we are all looking forward to another successful year at ABC Day Nurseries.”
