Be Kind every dayPosted 13th November, 2017
Across our four ABC nurseries, we believe it is important to show kindness throughout each and every day.
But we will be paying extra special attention to why we need to be kind to each other on November 13, which is World Kindness Day.
We will be celebrating being kind to each other and asking the children to give us examples of how we can be kind to our friends and to other people in our lives.
We will also be asking our children to pledge an act of kindness to carry out on the day.
This could be anything from eating lunch with a new friend to sharing toys nicely or giving someone a hug when they are upset.
We want the children to know that even small acts of kindness are important and make people feel happy.
Kindness Day UK was set up on November 13, 2010 and is celebrated across the country.
Over the years it has been running events have happened such as 10,000 free chocolate bars being handed out at London Train stations, Kindness Scotland put on ‘Kind Kid Awards’ and schools across the UK have created Kindness cards and help specialised assemblies.
And it’s not just here, kindness has swept across the world too.
The Singapore Kindness Movement gave out 30,000 Gerberas as one of their acts of kindness, World Kindness Australia conducted an enormous Kindness Hug on Bondi Beach and a Kindness Awards Ceremony took place in Parma Italy hosted by The Italian Kindness Movement.
The day aims to increase the value of kindness in society and making sure kindness plays a greater role in our lives.
If we teach children the importance of kindness now, it will last them a lifetime.
